About Paul Davis
If you are finding yourself hopeless and stuck, like you are caught in the same cycle you’ve been through before, or feeling discouraged by life and the hand that you’ve been dealt, I am here with you. As your therapist, I will join you in the mud puddle that you are finding yourself in. I want you to feel seen and recognized, to feel a spark of hope, and to dare to think that maybe, just maybe, you can get through this.
I believe that lasting change and healing graciously occur in connection. When we courageously allow ourselves to feel heard and known by someone safe, we can begin to find that the weights we carry are less burdensome. From there, we can see ourselves differently, reclaim who we are, and move toward a new story rather than remaining stuck in the ones that have held us back.
Because every person’s story is different, the way I counsel is shaped by the person sitting across from me. I work with individuals, couples, and families and have experience in addictions, conflict resolution, marital therapy, sex therapy, loss and grief, life transitions, and career counseling. My counseling style is eclectic and built upon a foundation of Existential, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. I am trained in Relate Strong and Prepare/Enrich and have experience utilizing the Gottman Method. I am currently practicing under the supervision of Dylan Pierson, LPC.
I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. After spending the last decade in the corporate world, I am in the process of transitioning into what I believe is my God-given calling to counseling. I am married and a father of two, with a very jealous cat. Outside of counseling, I enjoy playing board games, working out at my local F3 AO, and playing kazoo tag with my family.
I believe you have a story worth telling, and I would be honored to hear it.
